Good to hear that the 4 - 2 minute rounds are being replaced!

Concerning, amateur boxers records in the early years. That is a impossible task.
For instance, how could, even all of the boxers remember all of their own bouts.
Some folks keep scrapbooks. But in the larger towns club shows likely don't make the newspapers.

Trying to remember all of my own bouts, excluding Golden Glove and Diamond Belt activity would be challenging for completeness and recording correct names.

One thing I do remember is facing Portland's RAY LAMPKIN twice in 1968 Tacoma
and Seattle in Go;den Gloves action, and Seattle's NEIL KNIGHT in a club show
in Seattle.

Thank heaven for passbooks, but over time, they get misplaced
or tossed out with the trash.

People do not want to put in the time to learn how to box so they simply get into a cage and tackle someone, get them into a headlock or elbow them on top of the head. You can see that around 1:30am outside most bars in the city and out in the country. When the high schools start having boxing as they would gym classes the kids will learn to defend themselves and have respect for one another instead of cow towing down to some bullies.

I agree with Hudathan, I think California has an amazing amount of amateur talent and this suspension only causes grief to the young fighters who at times are struggling just to stay active and competitive, the suspension makes little sense and it is not likely to stop these underground illegal cards in the first place, specially since now it is the only way to get a fight in cali.

Cali needs to let their amateurs fight! Don't punish the fighters and kids for what greedy and irresponsible promoters did!
